It is post-Valentine’s Day, but I am bursting forth with the need to share. I am not normally a Valentine’s Day sorta guy. As a matter of fact, I have been known to assail the holiday roundly year after year. Well, I spent last evening with a woman who is quite solidly kicking my ass three ways to next Sunday. Her name is Jennifer Sherfield. She is a first-year special ed. teacher at South High School, teaching students with moderate and severe disabilities. I am not going into a resume here, but suffice it to say that she is very much a woman who knows how to kick some special ed. booty! But what is even more splendiferous is that she is lovely, beautiful, intelligent, independent, fun, exciting and energizing. On top of that, she actually seems to enjoy spending time with yours truly. Go figure. It is rare that one finds someone with whom so much can be shared with so much genuine real-ness. I am daily astounded by her, and by the fact that we actually found our way into to each other’s lives. And yes, I know that I am waxing all heavy and stuff, but if you had met the illustrious Miss Sherfield, you would understand. I sure do.

Ok. So now the cat is quite out of the proverbial bag, and all y’all might understand why I have been so damn giddy the past month or so. Well, there you have it. Whoa.

It’s gonna be a good year.
